Be very strict on holding her leash as soon as she walks off from you firmly say NO! Than after try a tie out cable.

This isn’t a good idea. My GSD Saber does it but when he sees another dog he will sometimes go say hello. Most of the time he listens to me but I don’t take any chances.

You can train him but if your dog is used to running of on you or just gets too distracted don’t do it. I don’t recommend it at all. Your dog can get hit by a car, go after another dog/person. Keep your dog on a safe leash.

My dog knows how to because I’ve trained him since he was a puppy but as he got older I placed the leash on him and only let him loose on dog parks or in empty open spaces.

P.S…Take her to training classes. Reward her ON a leash when shes close to you or when she looks back at you. Teach her the WAIT command and the STOP command. It takes a lot of work but it can be done.

You absolutely do not let her off lead until she has learned.

Buy a long line. It is like a lead but approx. 15 foot long. If ever she gets near the end of it then call her in, and she NEVER gets to go off lead again until such time as she never pulls to the end to go off somewhere.

You should never allow your dogs to chase wildlife.

Also work on obedience training using the word heel to have her close by your side. Classes would help you learn what you have to do.

Just remember that your dog going off lead is a privilege and she is not going to get that privilege until she has earned it. The more you let her off and she runs off then the harder it will be to stop her.

i have taught my dog before. what i did for a start was hook her with one of my friends dog, their dog was very well trained and wouldnt run away. after i put a small weight on her leash and let go, then to deffinetly be possitive she wouldnt run away i took her leash off and used treats to make sure that if she did walk away i would give her the treat and she’ll come back, usually cheese or meat. this was in about a two week process to get it through their minds,
