Why is my dog howling like a wolf?

My mixed breed dog, rarely barks. Instead howling. I've had dogs all my life and she howl like a dog. She screams like a wolf. She cries all the time: when hungry, when upset, when you want to play, and even when "taking to us. "She just looks at us and starts howling. Its behavior is very different from the behavior of other dogs. Do you think it could be an ancestor of the wolf?

Or maybe it is part dog. Sounds like a great dog! My neighbors dogs would be more fun if they did that instead of barking ….
