If you neuter my male 5 years, will change their behavior?
I have an apartment for my 5 year old male Shih Tzu 14. We had two other appointments in the years that my husband has been canceled. Because Shih Tzu are quite tempremental anyway, afraid that because we do not get it fixed at an early age and Waite, where he will do "change." I have assured you that after a couple of weeks to recover from the trauma of the surgery will return to normal but I do not believe it. HELP! PLEASE someone help me find something that can convince the appointment within 2 weeks. I do not want to go through this again. I would prefer to get fixed before it reaches the prostate or testicular cancer and you loose because of my ignorance husbands! Has anyone heard of dogs personalities "change" worse after sterilization at this age?
Sterilization does not change personality, no matter how old you have. If a dog a bad mood, which will continue to be a grumpy dog. If it is a sweet lap dog, will remain a sweet lap dog. The only thing that castration can help make the behavior and roaming. Many dogs, if they are marked for the year, will continue out of habit, whether they are neutered. Her, but can not guarantee, reducing their need to flee in search of females and fight other dogs for the state, but as 5 years old, if you've been aggressive dog can be followed, or if you always loved dogs, nothing will change. The risk of testicular cancer, prostate disease, etc., plus the possibility of impregnating another dog is much larger than the likelihood that it could change. It will remain the same dog's personality-wise, no matter what you do. The only thing that is sure to change your metabolism and keep in mind that you probably only need to reduce the amount of food you feed him and that's all. Why not just take the dog neutered and have not matter what?
